America's most successful premium television company, Home Box Office delivers two 24-hour pay television services - HBO® and Cinemax®.

HIGHLIGHTS

The HBO and Cinemax brands were #1 and #2, respectively, in primetime and total day ratings among all domestic premium pay television services in 2010. For 2010, the third season of True Blood continued to build on its already stellar numbers, Boardwalk Empire delivered the most watched debut for an HBO series in over six years, and The Pacific ranks as one of HBO's most watched miniseries ever.

HBO's original productions continue to be recognized as some of the most innovative, honored and critically acclaimed programming on television. The network began 2011 with four Golden Globes® Awards, more than any other network for the fourth year in a row, including two for the freshman breakout hit Boardwalk Empire; seven Peabodys including HBO Documentary Films' For Neda, HBO Films' Temple Grandin and HBO Miniseries' The Pacific; and seven Sports Emmys® including Outstanding Sports Documentary for Lombardi. HBO also received 19 Primetime Emmy® Awards, the most of any network for the tenth year in a row, with Boardwalk Empire leading all programming with 8 awards, while the HBO Miniseries Mildred Pierce received 5 awards. The HBO Documentary Films® presentation of Strangers No More received an Academy Award® for Best Documentary (Short Subject).

2010 was also a stellar award year for HBO, with the network garnering 25 Primetime Emmy® Awards, the most of any network for the ninth year in a row. Additionally, HBO won four Golden Globe® Awards, an Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject), nine Sports Emmys® (the most of any network and the most ever for HBO), and three George Foster Peabody Award in 2010.

In 2011, HBO presents two new series – the drama series Game of Thrones, based on George R.R. Martin's popular "A Song of Ice and Fire" books that chronicle an epic struggle for power set in a violent fantasy kingdom, and features an international cast including Mark Addy, Sean Bean, Emilia Clarke, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Fairley, Lena Headey, Kit Harington and Aidan Gillen; and Enlightened, an offbeat comedy about a self-destructive health and beauty executive who has a very public workplace meltdown, starring Golden Globe® winner Laura Dern.

Among HBO favorites returning in 2011 are True Blood, Boardwalk Empire, Bored to Death, How to Make It in America, Eastbound & Down, Treme and the final seasons of Big Love and Entourage.

HBO Films' 2011 productions include three major features: Sunset Limited, based on the play of the same name by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Cormac McCarthy, stars Academy Award® winner Tommy Lee Jones and Oscar® nominee Samuel L. Jackson in a searing two-character drama about a stranger who saves another from throwing himself in front of a Harlem train; Too Big to Fail, featuring William Hurt, Ed Asner, Billy Crudup, Paul Giammatti, Topher Grace, Matthew Modine, Cynthia Nixon, Michael O'Keefe, Bill Pullman, Tony Shalhoub and James Woods, explores the epochal 2008 financial crisis; and Cinema Verite, a behind-the-scenes story of the groundbreaking documentary An American Family which chronicled the Louds in the early 70s and catapulted them to notoriety, stars Diane Lane, Tim Robbins and James Gandolfini.

HBO Miniseries also presents Mildred Pierce, an adaptation of James M. Cain's classic Depression Era novel, starring Oscar winner Kate Winslet, Guy Pearce and Evan Rachel Wood. The 5-part miniseries event follows the story of a proud single mother trying to earn her daughter's love.

Featured HBO Documentary Films for 2011 include A President to Remember: In the Company of John F. Kennedy, an intimate profile of the iconic American president, from his candidacy to his presidency to his personal life; Reagan, a definitive look at the former president, tracing his rise from actor to California governor to the White House; The Battle for Marjah, the inside story of the United States largest offense in the war in Afghanistan to date; and Triangle: Remembering the Fire, a look at the infamous 1911 fire at the triangle shirtwaist factory in Lower Manhattan that took the lives of over 100 young immigrant women and subsequently spurred the modern labor movement.

HBO's original programming is also licensed to television networks in over 150 countries worldwide and is also distributed via DVDs, Blu-rays and digital downloads throughout the world.
